Cindy Shepherd
Connection Minister
Cindy grew up in Peoria. She has been married to Matt since 1998. They have two cats Meatball and Rudy.
Kyndall Singletary
Children's Ministry Director
Kyndall grew up not too far from Peoria in Eureka. After attending Peoria Nazarene for a few months, she missed children’s ministry and got involved in volunteering with no intention of leading again. It was a few months after that, that she was approached about stepping into the Children’s Ministry Director position and after feeling a confirmation from the Lord, said yes!
While her degree is in Marketing and she works full-time in HR, she had ministry classes throughout college and has had the privilege to have several mentors and friends help along the way.
She enjoys reading, going to coffee shops, and spending time with friends and family.
She talks about our people being so welcoming and makes everyone feel loved.
Her favorite Bible verse is Exodus 14:!4. “The Lord will fight for you, and you need only to be still” (NIV).
Ken Roat
Youth Ministry Director
Ken’s hometown is Havana, Illinois. He grew up on a small farm about 5 miles outside of Havana.
He has a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME), which might not sound like it would necessarily connect to a ministry in a church setting, but he thinks God can, and will, use any of our talents, as long as we are willing to step-out and try. He has found that his natural tendencies for structure, logic, processes, data-driven decisions, and analytical thinking can be valuable when part of a bigger team, and when working with people possessing other types of personalities and talents. We all have something to contribute.
Ken and his wife, Roxanne, have been married for 31 years. They have three daughters, and one son-in-law. Lydia (& Liam), Addie, and Rosemary. Lydia, Liam, and Addie live and work in Indianapolis, IN. Rosemary is a student at Olivet Nazarene University in Bourbonnais, IL.
He enjoys running, hiking, watching and playing basketball, traveling, and doing activities with his family.
His favorite Bible passage is 1 Corinthians 13:4-7.
